Apex Comics 1.10.0: Your library, your sections
Hey everyone,
1.10.0 is about making the library feel like yours, and the reader menu feel lighter. Hide Favorites if you never use them, put In Progress at the top, create custom lists, and keep the rest of the catalog out of the way. In the reader, a floating glass dock replaces the crowded action row.
Manage sections
The floating library toolbar now has a single Sections control (tune icon). It opens a dedicated hub: bottom sheet on phone, centered dialog on tablet.
- Create a new section from the hub (same flow as before, now in one screen)
- Show or hide any manageable section with the eye toggle: Favorites, In Progress, My Library, Series, Completed, and your custom lists
- Use the arrows to reorder. The order is saved per library and restored after a scan or app restart
- Rename or delete custom lists from the overflow on each row
- A quiet badge on the toolbar icon when at least one section is hidden
- Restore default order and visibility in one tap (with confirmation if you customized anything)
- Optional: auto-add new issues that match a series already in a custom section (Settings → Library, off by default)
Hide vs collapse
Collapsing a section still keeps the header on screen. Hiding it removes it from the library list and from the A–Z index. Hidden sections stay listed in the hub so you can bring them back anytime. Search never reveals a section you chose to hide.
Quick hide from a header
- Long-press any system or custom section header (Favorites, Series stacks, manuals, and so on)
- Choose Hide section. A short snackbar offers Manage to jump straight to the hub
- Rename and delete stay on custom lists only
- Individual series headers in expanded smart organization stay out of this menu, so you do not get a hundred hide actions
Smart organization
- Stacked series: one Series row you can hide or move like any other section
- Expanded smart layout (one section per series): the hub shows a single Series (smart organization) group instead of listing every series
- Shortcuts (In Progress, Favorites, custom lists) stay independently manageable
- You cannot hide the last visible section that still has comics; reset is always available
Sync and libraries
- Layout preferences are stored per library, like collapse and sort
- If Premium multi-device sync is on, section order and visibility travel with your other prefs
Reader command dock
The reader menu is a floating glass panel, in the same language as the rest of Apex: mode, Guided View, X-Ray, and Moments on a compact dock.
- Tap Navigation to pick Horizontal, Vertical, Dual, or Webtoon, with a short hint for each. The sheet closes when you choose
- Two-page spread sits next to the page count when the window is wide enough. Hidden on compact screens, Webtoon, and Guided View
- Jump with the page thumbnails. Moments stay highlighted on the strip
- The ⋮ button holds trim, orientation lock, Western / Manga direction, Cast, save to gallery, offline download, and reader settings
Edit metadata
Long-press any comic card and choose Edit metadata. Update series name, story title, issue number, and release date in a glass sheet with a live card preview.
- Apply updates the card immediately and reorders stacks when the number or series changes
- Edits are saved locally and survive library rescans
- Komga libraries also push title, number, and release date to the server when your account has admin rights
New issues in a series
Open a series stack and see a compact New in this series strip for recently added issues you have not started yet, with NEW badges on those covers.
- Same Arrivals rules as the library shelf: last 14 days, not read, not in progress
- Scoped to the series you opened, so long runs still surface their own new issues
- Hidden when empty, or when you turn off Arrivals in Settings → Library
Discovery publishers
Comics Discovery keeps the quick publisher chips you already know, and adds a More picker with a searchable list of publishers so you can filter this week and next week by imprint without leaving the screen.
Premium monthly subscription
Premium now offers lifetime or a monthly subscription through Google Play. Both unlock the same features: Guided View, X-Ray, Discovery, stats, multi-device sync, and the rest of Premium.
- The 30-day Premium pass is no longer sold to new purchasers
- Premium monthly renews automatically each month at the price shown in Google Play until you cancel. Cancel anytime from Play Store subscriptions; access continues until the end of the paid period
- Premium lifetime is unchanged: one payment, no subscription
- If you already bought a 30-day pass, it keeps running until it expires. After that, choose lifetime or monthly to stay on Premium
Turkish language
Apex Comics is now fully translated into Turkish. Switch anytime in Settings → General → Language.
